i am a kid, and i dont usually get home from school til 5:30 becuz of extra stuff after school (from sports to after school help)
but when i do get home, i get supper ready and eat, then do dishes.
after that i go to a music lesson of some sort. (violin, trumpet, piano) or i go to dance practice until at least 9. then i get home and eat something. then i start homework at 9:30. then i get free time to myself(finally!) between 10:45-12:00. then i read and go to bed.
all those times are estimated by the way. my schedule isnt that clean. :o) im not that organized.
so if your a parent wondering if kids arent doing enuff stuff, think of their schedule. my parents are always saying i dont help out enuff. but how am i supposed to when i dont have any time!
anyhow, hope that answered y0ur question.
(probly not)

I pick my daughter up from school (she is in 2nd grade) and bring her home. She usually will have a snack and drink when she gets home, she has an early lunchtime. I let her unwind for about 20 minutes or so. Then she starts her homework for the day. Besides scheduled homework she also is required to do 20 minutes of reading (books of her choice, as long as she is reading), I usually have her do about 40 minutes though. Thank goodness she enjoys reading. Then she is allowed some TV time before we eat dinner. After dinner it is time to clean up and then practice piano.

Like Glurpy, my kids are homeschooled, so they never "come home" from school (unless we're doing a co-op). However, I guess everything they do school-wise might be considered homework, so my older son does about 4 hours and the younger one about 3 hours.

My children usually empty their backpacks(bookbags) and their lunch bags, while discussing their day at school....then they have "relax time"....they can watch t.v., play PS2, listen to the radio, etc....then after about a half hour or so, they are to sit down and do their homework...the time they spend on it depends on how much homework they have....it can range anywhere from 30 minutes to as much as 3 hours or more.

None. My kids don't "come home" from school. Home is school. When they finish their daily lessons, they are finished for the day. They can spend the rest of it volunteering or visiting whomever they want.

My kids are homeschooled (this is the homeschooling section), so they don't come home from school, they're always at school when they're at home. They don't ever have homework.
