Would this have effected the test? I am not a regular drinker,I drink 2x a year. Should I be worried about the ALT 55? Also I have been taking 1700mg of fish oil pills for 6 months, and take a multivitamin daily. Would this make a difference in Alt #'s?

a rise in ALT levels means you've got something going on with the liver. this falls one point below what would be considered high. ALT and AST levels can be indicative of liver damage. having a couple of beers two days prior to testing would not cause an increase.

if the doctor is testing your liver, sometimes the alt and ast levels can appear normal-but you can still have liver disease. i would ask the doctor to test you for hepatitis c as well as other liver diseases that may or may not produce elevated enzymes.

good luck.

In an adult 10-35 U/l is a normal range with males being slightly higher. It may have been the beers.

This is a moderate increase and your doctor may wish to monitor it. You should be speaking to your doctor about this instead of to Yahoo! Answers. Fish oil and MVI would have no effect. When you speak to your doctor, tell her/him what you told us and ask about the possiblity of retesting in the future.

the 1st 2 have it the superb option. Whiskey is unquestionably a secure determination, in my opinion. it relatively is mixed with just about something, or drank at present up. i like to drink it on the rocks, or a jack and coke. i might stay removed from baileys or those form of beverages. they look kinda girly. He might get teased.
