Okay. I am a freshman in high school, and I am pretty much labeled "undateable". I don't really know why. I'm also apparently one of the most ugly girls in my school. I don't understand this either. I am 5'8", about 96 pounds (not with an ED, just a high metabolism), have long light brown hair, and almost no acne. My face isn't uneven or knackered or missing anything like a nose or something, and I am very pale. I really think I'm rather okay looking, yet I remain "the ugly one". Also, according to some of my peers, I have no personality. I am a musician and am very involved and passionate about music (I'm a violinist.)
Now would be a good time to mention that I live in Texas, go to a VERY football-crazed school, and I can't stand the sport. I'm also a socialist and an atheist. This is not good in the Bible Belt. It kinda of makes sense why I can't get dates here (I don't want to date a sweaty footballer) but do you reckon I'll have luck anywhere else?

(No pervs, please.)

Judging from your paragraph, I'm going to assume that you don't care too much about what your peers say about you or else you would've let it gone to your head. Instead of being convinced that you're ugly, as your peers say, you disagree. And that's good.

The truth is, there really isn't a long lasting point to date in high school. Most of the relationships do not last because think about - do you even have the time to really get to know this person? What if you live on opposite ends of town and neither one of you has a car? Then you can only see each other in school but seeing someone in only one situation is not going to help you to really get to know them. Relationships last because both parties know the other inside and out - and respect them as they are.

Having said that, yes, you will have luck somewhere else. If not later on in high school, then definitely OUT of high school when nothing really matters anymore.

Besides, in my general observation, the girls who are pretty in high school become ugly after high school and the girls who were considered ugly become swans.

Seriously, take my word for it - all the hype in high school will die out as soon as you get out. This includes dating and football.

:)

dont' take it personal. i went through the same thing.
me and my buddies didnt get a girl til either SR year or after high school. we were considered the "scary rock/metal kids".

Girls would choose to get pregnant with some wanna-be "rap" hip hopper kids that never went to class and smoked pot. i was one of the kids who stuck to a small crowd and got good grades.

2 years after high school, im making almost 15 bucks an hour with a degree on the way. while these girls are raising kids, and the guy has left em.

do this next time you go to school and its lunch time
tell yourself "why do i care, i won't EVER see any of these people after i graduate"

btw, its my official 2 year reunion in june and I would like to say that the # of people i still communicate with on a daily basis is >5 and every once in a while kinda friends >10.

Ahhh, there's your problem. You love your music and your fiddle and you're in a football crazed school.

I too went to a "football crazed school" and I (being a guy) played tuba (in college I switched to string bass and Cello). Sports and music only go together if you play a band instrument. It's kind of hard to march with a violin.

Don't be upset, it happens to the best of us. I went to college and dated a bass drummer (yea it was a girl and a cute one at that). You will have your day trust me. I don't know if you do already but you might want to try some light make-up to accent your features.

By the way, you sound kind of cute to me.
