Anyone ever walked out in the middle of a therapy session?

YES, therapist was trying to go somewhere that I had said I didn't want to talk about, I told her that she was starting to piss me off and if she didn't back off I was out of there.
She didn't so I did, I got up and walked out.

She rang me the next day.
I went back and saw her one more time, but for me the trust was gone. She had always told me that we would only talk about what I wanted to talk about. She should have let it go when I said I wasn't ready.
I needed to regain some control and let her know what the problem was.
She said she was sorry, but the trust was gone

I have had to do that a few times while I was a psychiatric inpatient. I was just too out of control at those times and couldn't handle group therapy.

Whether it is in group or individual therapy, the therapist will understand. After all, this is sometimes part of their job. They won't take it personally, and, if they do, you should change therapists.

No, but I once was determined to be not the one who said the first word. I got tired of just sitting there and talking and not getting any advise. 60 minutes went by of dead silence with both of us staring at each other. At the end of my session, I got up and left.

Yes, I have. I had gotten so disgusted by the therapist's lack of empathy that I would have rather been by myself.

I never went back. But I always wondered what that therapist thought and if she learned anything.

Yes I always walk out on group therapy because I hate it - It doesn't apply to me This hasn't happened for quite a while though. You have to be your own person
