OK, let me explain before you clobber me. There are several situations that come to my mind.

Let's say I want to take this lady to a particular nice restaurant because I think she'll like it. I'm willing and able to pay whatever it costs to do this. But if I have a coupon, why should I not use it? If it's because I need to show that I'm not cheap, or poor, suppose I use the coupon saving me $5 and then burn a 5 $ bill. Same thing as paying full price?

Let's say I want to take this lady to an extremely nice restaurant because I think she'll like it. But on most days it's way outside of my budget. Suppose the nice place has an early bird special with a restricted menu on Tuesdays that I could afford. Should I just take her to an inferior place instead? Take her to the early bird special and tell her she needs to stick to the restricted menu? That sounds cheap, even to me, but remember - otherwise it's pizza.

Or save a few bucks and maybe then I can afford the special desert.

If it was me, and we enjoyed the dinner I would think you were pretty damn smart - not pissing away money - when i could spend it later for you on an ice cream cone....LOL

Tough call....

Some people would say don't take there if you can't afford it. It also would be low class to tell her she has to order from the discount menu.

I would say, find a better place. Some restaurants are over priced based on where they are. I know a number of high priced, low quality restaurants that people go to because it's trendy.

Find a better option...or cook the meal yourself! There are a ton of ways you can make the first date more special without spending what you can't aford to spend or by looking cheap.

If this is a first date, I wouldn't use the coupon. If this woman likes you and you are paying, why would she mind if you used a coupon? I would try to give the coupon to the waiter in the beginning, so you don't have to pull it out when the bill comes. No woman should be ashamed to be with a guy who cares enough about himself and his own future to save a few dollars here and there.

As long as you aren't making a huge issue of using the coupon, she probably won't either. She'lll probably think you're smart for wanting to save a little money.
However, if you make a point of letting everyone know you have, and intend to use a coupon, it could potentially make you look cheap.

First of all I see nothing wrong with using a coupon at a resturant. That's what they have them for obviously. And if you are paying it's no one elses' buisness how you pay. So if any date your on has a problem with that then they are either very shallow or gold diggers anyway!

Well, it all matters on the girl. I have a feeling that you have been listen ing to someone alittle more high maintaince than I am, because I would suggest going to the early bird special, esp. if I knew the guy was paying all the way.

You basically answered your own question. Girls prefer that you be excited about the date and not about how much is it going to cost you. She may also think that you brought her there only because you had a coupon.

tell her you like her and would like to take her out. explain that you want to take her some place nice, but lately you're just on a tight budget. if she likes you and if she isn't stuck up then she should be fine with that. if not, maybe she's not for you!
