Im not really sure why you'd ever do it - they could be ugly, creepy, liars etc and I cant believe so many people are that trusting of strangers....

I might meet someone on line.. but not continue to date on line..why bother. Most are not who they say they are anyway and just living a fantasy life in lies.

Sure, why not? There are a ton of online dating sites out there that protect your privacy. Of course most require a monthly fee, but it's worth it to protect yourself. If you are interested in someone, try to meet them as soon as possible and make sure it's in a local place like the mall, or a restaurant..etc. I say as soon as possible because sometimes people develop an idea what this person is with people thru email and phone calls, and then you finally meet them and there is absolutely no chemistry.

Yes, there are some wierdo's out there, but there are also some really great people out there that are prolly having a hard time meeting people just like you. I did it for about a year and met my husband. It's becoming more and more common.

Just be careful and don't share too much information, and always always meet in a public place.

My girlfriend I have now, I met online. It worked out really great! I was actually dating around at the time we met, and so was she. Then it worked out that we weren't seeing anyone, and had talked for almost 3 months already. Well, we've been together over a year. So yeah, it works. Though, before this there were MANY horror stories lol. Best of luck!

I've dated some pretty "ugly, creepy liars" in the past who I met face to face.... I think the key is keeping yourself out of danger when you're in those first stages of any relationship. Stick to public places and don't give them more than they need to know.

Ive met people from online, not so much dating online. Infact I met my wife in a chat room about 5 years back. But after we met we stopped talkin on the internet.

I've done online dating and it's not bad...Yeah you don't know who your talking to that is why one, I don't meet them at their house or my house. Public setting always important and two, don't go meeting anybody with the intent of possibly hooking up. Look at it as your meeting a friend. That way if he/she isn't what you wanted/hoped for/thought he'd/she'd be then your not disappointed. Personal opinion
