When a governing body orders someone who makes a certain amount of money to give that money over to some other person or organization, that's called forced redistribution of wealth. They did exactly that in the former Soviet Union, and it was one of many policies that sounded good on paper but ended up ruining the country. See, if the U.N. made such a rule, the richest among us would make sure that they never became billionaires just so they could avoid paying that "donation" for distressed people. In the Soviet Union, because of that policy (and others that didn't appropriately award people for working harder or doing a better job) it brought everyone down to the level where they basically did the minimum amount of work that they had to in order to get by. There was no motivation to do better, so everyone became one step above lazy. And that's what the liberals are trying to do right here in the U.S. -- did you hear Hillary Clinton wants to force the oil companies to take their profits and invest them all in research?!?!! Who the heck does she think she is? Are you starting to see why she should NEVER be allowed to be the leader of the free world?

Most billionaires probably already donate more than 1 million p.a for various causes that they hold dear. If the UN managed all the monies donated to charitable causes, probably the money would be so miss-managed by that organization that the final outcome would be that less money would reach the distressed people. Just look at the oil for food program in Iraq that the UN botched up in cahoots with Germany and France.

Cuz the UN is a union of countries and they are just an organization, they make rules for countries not individuals. Plus the UN has no real way to enforce these rules. And how could you ever justify taking money from people. Also the UN can't tell counties how to use the money. So it would be just like the Red Cross. They give money to a country and it's up to that country to use the money. But most of the time they just spend it on the rich people. So no matter what the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Why is it the billionaires problem
you should take care of your own problems
thats the problem today nobody OWES you anything
it would be great if Bill Gates gave me a new laptop but he doesn't owe me one just because he has more money than I do no more than the rest of the country owes me a new house because of a tornado or flood or earthquake!!!!
Why don't we make a rule that all middle income and poor people give 50 bucks we would get a lot more money that way as there are a lot more of them than there are billionaires
Death To Infidels !!!!!

and expect all the money they make from the billionaires to go elsewhere? as a realist it shows that our governments.... USA.... UN.... and quite a few more are more interested in lining their own pockets than helping the rest of the world. If they cared then there would be no world hunger and common diseases like smallpox and polio wouldnt be rampant in africa.

Note... i am not a pessimist... or a conspiracy theorist.... just a concerned realist

Some starving people in the world would consider you rich. I suggest the UN start with making you send 10% of your income to "distressed people".

Then billionaires would only keep 999,999,999 in their name, and the same amounts in family members name. If you aren't technically a billionaire, you don't have to pay. Why don't you give all your money to "distressed" people?

Be a billion-air and then ask the question.
Money would loose its importance and world would be a more pleasant place to live in if ppl become or are forced to become such generous.
