no dude,i am working for microsoft help desk,only thing u need to do is get the upgrade disk which will upgrade the operating system from xp or any microsoft os to vista ,without loosing the data,u will not loose the my document folder as well.

Well The old saying still applies if something is not broken do not alter it. All these people who were so quick to run out and buy Vista will pay the price. Wait till a service pack or 2 comes out for it to make it more stable. Hope your not looking to use any software on the market presently because i have seen only a couple of products that are microshaft Vista compatible

If you install the Vista Upgrade, your "stuff" should not be deleted (assuming by stuff, you mean all of the data files that are in your My Documents folder or associated with particular applications. There are different versions of Vista and the prices for each will vary, but the prices for any version should be the same for all retailers (legit ones anyway, and don't by from the ones that aren't) because Micro$oft controls the pricing.

don't use vista

microsoft has said that 1% of the population will have issues upgrading to it, however 1% of microsoft users in the US equals like a million people
