It's that flat frosting that they just lay on top of the cake. I watched some wedding cake show but I didn't ever hear them say the name of it. Help!!!!

I think you're talking about fondant as well. Check out this site. It's got instructions on how to make the different types, as well as how to use it.

I believe what you describe is called fondant. It comes in a sheet and is flexible enough to wrap around the cake. It provides a very smooth surface for decorating.

Butter cream icing is wondeful. A lot of bakeries use it. It is a little fattening- but its FROSTING! eat up!

Yeah, it's called fat. Seriously, it's crisco and sugar, lots of sugar, whipped up nice and fluffy. Fat never looked better
