you take the square footage and divide that by the amount of square footage there is in a box and you will get the amount of boxes you need. Also add an extra 2-3 boxes for coverage in closets. Lowe's has a laminate floor kit to help lay it down. You will also need underlayment and that come so much to a roll. Make sure you have a circular saw handy.
Have fun!

well in the US i deal with feet but it should work the same
3.10metres X 3.20metres = 9.92 m2
9.92 divided by 2.26 = 4.389
buy 5 boxes, if its a retangle room you will have about a half box left, in some cases depending on the room you may even need a 6th box. when i do the install i stagger the rows and the piece i cut from one end can be used on the other end which saves on waste. any extra full sheets or good size pieces should be stored away incase you have a damaged one in the future
good luck, its not that hard

To work out 10% is so easy - just move the decimal point one place to the left. The answer is $9.30 However, you need to know the principle of working out ANY percentage of ANY number: Express the required percentage as a fraction of 100 & multiply by the number for which you need the percentage, expressed as a fraction over 1. So: 10/100 x $93/1 = 930/100 = $9.30 Likewise, to find a different percentage (eg 85%) of $93.00: 85/100 x $93/1 = 7905/100 = $79.05

Decide which way round you need the planks to run, Divide the width of the plank into the side that will 'see' the width, round up to the nearest whole number. Then, divide the length into the side that will 'see' the length, round up to the nearest whole number, multiply the two numbers...this is the number of planks.
Divide this by the number of planks in a pack,, round up to the nearest whole number There is the number of packs,

hi stef you say your room is 3.10m x 3.20m you multiply these figures together which gives you 9.92sq.m. you then divide this answer by the area of your laminate flooring, which in your case it is 2.26sq.m thus giving you the answer of 4.38 packs. But as you can only buy the flooring in packs of 2.26sq.m you will actually need to purchase 5 packs.

Consider buying six. With allowing for 7% to 10% waste, five is cutting it close. You can always return an unopened box. You will want some leftover pieces in case you have to replace a damaged one.
