Actually, the best airfares are probably through the airline's website I fly a lot for work and book a lot of travel. I usually check expedia.com or orbitz.com and see which airline has the cheapest flights, then i go to that airline's website, and 99% of the time I get the exact same airfare. Plus those sites all charge a "booking fee" of $5 or more so it actually makes it more expensive. Plus some airlines guarantee that you will find the cheapest fares through their own website (I know American Airlines does this and probably most others). And it's also the most reliable to go through the source directly. Also check the "low-fare" carriers like Southwest Airlines or JetBlue because they only have their fares on their own websites so check there as well, although I never find those to be the cheapest.

For last minute flights, try www.site59.com within two weeks of your flight date.

Or try these:
cheaptickets.com
priceline.com
orbitz.com
hotwire.com

Travelocity doesn't always offer the best prices. Realize that each carrier "sells" so many of their tickets to each of the web sites and these could vary greatly in price from website to website. Be sure to shop around... it's worth the time!

Another tip: Try going directly to some carrier's websites that don't "sell" to discount websites (ie. AirTran, Southwest, Midwest, etc). They may have a sale that's NOT published.

Oh, and one more thing.... Thursdays are sale dates for airlines... shop early morning on Thursdays for deals. Another tip is to be willing to leave a day later, or come home a day early, because the rate may increase/decrease depending on your dates (Friday departures and Sunday returns are more expensive versus Thursday departures and Monday returns).

Hope that helps!

Congrats on your pending nuptiuals, good date (my daughter's bday!!) To find the cheapest rate,I use any search tool such as travelocity, expedia, etc. When I find what I'm looking for,I go directly to that airline's website to book. Usually the fares are about $25 cheaper than the travel sites (that's probably their fee). Sometimes I find other flights that are not posted on the travel sites that work for me too!!

You can try at airzu.com compare all in one. The price about the same, and $$ too low could mean more hint fees some where.
