I know the perfect straightner! If you want an ok straightner, then I would buy a Helen of Troy. A good one to use if you like to straighten your hair when it's wet is a remington Wet 2 Style, of course you can also you that one when your hair is dry. The best one is a Chi! It is pretty expensive but it is the best one I have ever used! It gets really hot so I would not touch your hair directly after you Chi it! It cost about 125 dollars at Wal-Greens but at salons it will be around 145!

Don't try any Conair or Revlon brands that you find at places like Walgreens or Target. The best ones I've ever tried are the ones they have at Sephora; true, they're expensive, but trust me..it works miracles. Expect to pay 75-200 dollars

Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.
Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.
According to the Solia flat iron website, "tourmaline,
a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more
negative ions than traditional ceramic irons".

try helen of troy or at least a gold plated one. They're available at Sally's beauty Salon. Around the $75-$100 price range.

Well in my opinion the best have to be the GHD unsure how much they cost in dollars though, the best cheaper alternative I found is on by KODO they have two types one that heats up automatically and on where you can choose the heat up unto 210 degrees celcius

I just bought a new one a few weeks ago and it works really good. It's Conair and it has a comb attachment. I paid $49.95 at Sears.
