I currently live in Indiana but work in Illinois. Should I be paying both Indiana and Illinois taxes?

I would double check on that... My dad lives in NJ and works for NY although he only pays fed through NJ he has to pay both states taxes. There are rules so that you don't have to pay the full amount and for those who are working out of state. Look into the state laws for Illinois and go from there.

You will certainly file a return in Illinois as this is the state that has first dibs on your earnings.

You will also have to file in Indiana to see if you need to pay anything to them.
