Chaotic!! Can you imagine the effect if everyone's prayers were to be answered affirmatively?? How far would the lottery money go if everyone had the winning numbers? God would have to be minting money in his spare time! No one would ever die or grow old or be infertile or ill, thus the population of the world would soon become unmanageable; global warming would escalate beyond control; famines would ensue. Of course, then everyone would be praying for relief so that God would need to be performing miracles at an alarming rate, including altering the laws of physics to enable some us to emigrate to other planets -- out of his range of influence, he might be hoping... The concept is laughable! I guess it's why theists believe that sometimes God says, "NO!" What else could he do??

Just because you pray something doesn't mean wham you have what you want! Prayer is the same thing as a child asking their parent for something. Sometimes the prayer is answered by not being answered! It says God will full fill your needs.

I think it would be a very confusing place. What would happen when there were conflicting prayers? The Palestinians and Israelites would really have a prayer off. Thank Goodness its just a meditation exercise.

If you think of prayer as being granted wishes - then we'd all be rich.

However, if you think of prayer as I do - as a way to commune with the higher self and divine wisdom (within the self), and a way to strengthen yourself - then prayer does work. It only helps the individual (psychologically). It's not like a calling the magic genie and getting your three wishes.

the question should be, what would the world be like if prayer didnt work?
I belive prayer works because iv seen it. People healed from sickness, cancer, raised from the dead. Its just you have to go to the right church. Not all churches have the power of God. You have to be in a church that gives glory to him. Jesus christ is God. Im not saying only one religion is saved, but im saying some religions belive thier is 3 Gods. There is one and his name is Jesus Christ. Im From a United Pentecostal Church if you want to see prayers work, i suggest you go there some time. I know, God because God worked in my life sooo much its unbeliveable. some of the stuff is impossible without God.

Prayer does work. The question is really, do you have the faith and belief to be able to see all the miracles that do happen on a daily basis. Did you see the butterfly swoop near you? How about the look on the child's face when you smiled at him/her? What about the rains to calm heat waves and dry land? God's promise is with all of us. It is up to us to accept Him and all that He does for us everyday.

How do you know that prayer DOESN'T work? Do you have a roof over your head, food to eat and a computer to ask questions on? Perhaps someone is looking over you to make sure of these things...

Your question hinges on WHOSE prayers would work. If it was any particular religious group, like Christians for example, there would be no other religion other than the one they prayed to, or Christianity in this case.
