Their eyesight is a bit like looking at a slightly out of tune black and white TV (not that they see in black and white, just that they don't recognise different colours) They can't really see detail or close up, but it is more or less the same in the daytime and at night. but owls use thier hearing to hunt and thier eyesight is only really there to stop them from smacking into stuff.

Yes owls can see fine in the day time and they will grab snakes and things occaisionally during the day .But the large eyes of owls give them great ability to see at night and is a huge advantage over the animals they prey on that are out running around at night thinking the darkness is protecting them

Yes, some owls hunt by day. The colour of their eyes is different to those that hunt by night. Although saying this the night hunters can also see during the day as some falconers train and fly tawny owls and barn owls for example and they are night hunters.

yes they can they can see better than most birds theier eyes are large and protrude so they can see just fine, but they can see fine at night too.
