pour mon amie (female)
(That last one might be "ma amie" since you use "ma" for feminine nouns like "amie" but since it starts with an "a" I think you use the masculine form for clarity.)
EDIT - I just checked my book (gotta love an adult learning French) and it is "mon amie." Besides, if someone from Montreal says so, I'm willing to agree!

I just like saying Baptits. EDIT Actually, I think the main problem may be the laziness of Americans in enunciating words. We pronounce ATHEIST as AY-thee-ust, and so many people revert to spelling it the way they pronounce most thee-ust words, without regard to the etymology of the word. So it could simply be an over-reliance on poorly executed phonics over actual word meanings. Or, the people who misspell it regularly could just be stupid.
