Visit Disneyland! Your family would be able to enjoy both resorts (Disneyland and California Adventure). Every family should visit this resort at least once in their lives.
Knott's Berry Farm is also a terrific theme park with amazing rides (coasters!). Visit the LaBrea Tar Pitts in LA. It is a world famous dinosaur museum that will truly take your breath away.
