What is it like to be a 68W (Health care specialist/ combat medic)? What would I most likely be doing?

I would like to be out there kicking in doors, and stuff, with the infantry, but I want to be a medic. Do medics do that stuff too?

No, Medics are not combatives and, under international law, Medics are not authorized to engage in combat, except to protect themselves or a patient, so you might be disappointed.

If you become a medic, you will either work in a hospital/clinic or be assigned to a unit, such as with the infantry, and provide medical support to Soldiers. You will receive intensive medical training, specializing in trauma, and be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Maybe you should look into 31B [Military Police] as a possible career field?

I beleive you can go 68w option 40. Which is the Ranger option. You would have to find out more from a recruiter or someone in the Army/DEP because I don't know all the details.

I was a Marine squad leader, if my corpsman lifted his head up he had more to fear from me than the enemy! He can fix me I can't fix him. You want to kick in doors be a grunt.
