This happens quite a lot. It's called "sheep-stealing," and is masked by the term "evangelism."

This is often perpetuated by churches that believe they are the only Truth holders, and that to be saved, you must be baptized in their water, or believe exactly as they do.

I don't think Christians should try to convert anyone although they do try and if coercing doesn't work, there's always violence and force (as has been used in the past to great success). Christians have the arrogance in their belief that their God is the one true God when that may not be so. Many religions pre-date Christianity, so I'm not sure how Christians can claim the right to being "the one true religion."

atheists will never convert, because they(myself included) do not believe in God, we are naturalists and realists and do not thnk there is a divine reason for being here, we believe in evolution and the big bang. science is our 'religion'. christians would have better luck with people who already believe in a spiritual guider, and try to convert them to christianity.

Good point. Don't xtians feel other religions are just as "lost" as atheists? They should be more like muslims and try to convert the infidels. What a crappy religion xtian's have, they can't do anything right.

They should just leave everyone alone. I'm sick of people trying to convert me. However, if I had to pick I'd pick the second one because they would already have the basics needed for belief set in their heads.

Christians should try to avoid converting anyone. If someone is interested, they will ask about Christianity: otherwise, please refrain from trying to get us to adopt your beliefs, unless you would like people to start trying to de-convert you from your religion.

We should try to show everyone the Way, the Truth, and the Light.

But I do agree, some of us need to become more familiar with it.

For me, that's why I go to church.

ok, for the umpteenth time.....
(yawn)
Christians do not try to convert people.
Christians cannot convert anybody.
that is an impossibility.
Christians only share God's Truths with others.
God is the only one who can convert people.

The latter would probably be a lot easier to convert.

Christians ought to mind their own business and practice their voodoo quietly.
