Puts a guy in the 'friend-zone' (says you should be good 'friends' and nothing more than that) is she really putting you on the substitute bench?

No, it means she doesn't want to date you. She doesn't see you as boyfriend material. So she just wants you as a friend.

Generally when a girl says she just wants you as a friend she means it. Occasionally of course, friendships blossom into relationships, but most of the time you really will be just friends.

If you are happy to be friends, great, and if you continue to fancy her, just take it easy and time will tell. Don't be too full on - it's fine for her to know you are attracted to her, but make sure it doesn't become an issue that could put her off friendship.

I think the main clue to an attraction developing is in the eyes. If after you have given her the time to get to know you well (even if you are not her usual type, something can sometimes "click" later) then her eye contact will probably tell you. If her pupils enlarge when you look into eachother's eyes (if it seems appropriate to do that!) then she may well have grown attracted to you. If not, then as long as you don't blow it with too much trying to make it more, you will have a good female friend. Who knows, she might have another female friend who is perfect for you! I hope this helps, good luck!

I've came off of that substitute bench a couple time to bang chick once they didn't have first string boyfriends anymore, so I'd say yeah maybe. Of course, she could really only see you as a freind and nothing more, or she could just be saying your a freind to give you hope and avoid hurting your feelings. Depends on the girl. But if you want to be an oppurtunist, be ready to play when the starter is kicked off the team.

That sucks, I don't think so, she wants to be friends and continue the friendship relation, I suggest you continue being her friend but stay on the lookout for other girls while you are on the bench.

girls normally state the "good mates only" as i like u, infact i like u soo much but only as a gud friend n feelings of another nature might grow eventually but even if it does she sees u as a too gooda mate to b anything more, as it could distroy the friendship that u have, if the realationship were to not work out it would b too weird to carrey on a friendship!

That is just another confusing behavior of these girls. They should keep their mouth shut and do what man want them to do.
