Im doing a project on Hawaii...if you have been there or live there where are good places to visit? and...what are 3 interesting facts about the state :-) thanks I have some, but ive never been there so i need more imput. thanks again!

Lol... I had to put facts mostly about food.

1. Hawaii is the only state to grow and produce its own coffee.
2. Hawaii is the only state to grow and produce its own chocolate.
3. Hawaii is the only state to have ever had a form of government other than a democracy (a monarchy), and the only to have an actual palace ('Iolani Palace).
4. Hawaii is the only state to have stations for all branches of the military.

1). Hawai'i was a sovereign and independent Kingdom up until the 1893 overthrow

2). The United States apologized in 1993 to the Hawaiian people for the role Americans played in the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy

3). Hawaiian is the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE of Hawai'i. English is the other official language.

Some interesting facts: Tourism is the number one industry; It is the only state in the US that has a Royal Palace; when they became a state and had to select 2 people to enshrine in the US Capitol as historically significant, one of them was Father Damien, who founded the leper colony on Molokai.

Hawaii was called the "Sandwich Islands" by Captain Cook who was the first explorer to sight the islands. His benefactor was The 4th Earl of Sandwich.

Hawaii has the only royal palace ever built on US soil (Iolani Palace)
Oahu has interstate Highways.
There s a new island being formed rigth now, Luihi I think is how you spell it, off the coast of the Big Island.
Ni'ihau is own privately by the Robinson family (that's just their name, have no idea where they make their money).

Kilauea has been erupting continuously for 23 years.

i saw my first snow when I was a kid on the top of the big island.

there is a huge cattle ranch on the big island. it is 175,000 acres and has been on the island since the 1800s.

hawaii produces wine made out of pineapple.

kaui has the most rainfall of anywhere over 400 inches a year and also known for the most rainbows... really beautiful
