I don't consciously request this procedure. This is a fairly recent problem, but seems to appear on each billing now.

You are pressing *66 (or whatever the code is). When you get a busy signal, instead of hitting redial you press that code and your phone will ring when the number is no longer busy.

Are you the only one using the phone? Maybe someone else made the request to put it on your service and didn't tell you.

The only other thing I could think of is that it's already part of a bundle of services that's available in your landline package. If it's an individual line item and you don't want to pay the $3/mo or so to carry it, call your local phone company and get them to remove it.
