I have been advised not to buy my milk in plastic milk containers but get waxed cardboard as the light from the stores flourescent is bad for the milk and the plastic will contaminate the milk

The only issue is that the clear-ish containers (some plastics) allow in fluorescent light, which can reduce the levels of riboflavin in milk with extended exposure.

Paper cartons are ok, or the opaque white plastic containers. I notice most organic milk comes in opaque plastic, so you get the double-godness of it being hormone-free and having all ti's riboflavin in-tact.

Or, get yoru milk from the back of the rack, farthest away from the lights.
