Yes, there are millions of scholarships out there for various things. There are scholarships for grades and sports, but there are scholarships for many other things including wearing duct tape to the high school prom. I will list a lot of sources to locate scholarships both in the community and online.

First, the FAFSA form will bring need based financial aid from the state and federal governments along with the college itself. The work study program is tied to this form which can bring in needed cash for college. The funds given are based on family income and financial resources. The form is filled out yearly. In the senior year of high school, it is filled out after January 1.

Second, the high school guidance office can provide a list of local scholarships to apply for consideration to current high school students.

Third, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list scholarships, too.

Third, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. A person can find scholarships for almost anything using the website's search. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.

Good luck!

There are scholarships for almost everything, so Im not surprised. However, you have to be the smartest first child or left-hander. They dont just give them to anyone. Try searching the internet or visiting the financial aid counselor/scholarship lady at your school.

There are all kinds of great scholarships that noone has heard of and sometimes noone applies for. One great resource is the free scholarship search e-book from Student Scholarship Search Center:

My favorite is the Duct Tape Scholarship:

Good Luck!

No such scholarships exist. You were lied to, no doubt by someone snickering about having fooled you.

Alternately, you could be lying yourself.

Your local library will have entire books dedicated to listing the scholarships people can apply for. Start applying now, as it can take up to two years for some to approve you.
