we have millions of interconnecting things that keep us alive, and who (please don't answer god- i'm not sure if I believe in him) created us? It can't be evolution, because then who came up with the idea of evolution? I can't have just come into existence without some sort of logical thought.

you evolved, from a upright ancestor, Humans invented God, when we developed enough to try and describe our universe.

why is it that christians always miss the obvious and look for hidden secrets when there are clear clues for them.

let me illustrate it with a joke.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." "I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes" replies Watson. "And what do you deduce from that?" Watson ponders for a minute. "Well, astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.

Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three.

Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all-powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. What does it tell you, Holmes?" Holmes is silent for a moment. "Watson, you idiot!" he says. "Someone has stolen our tent!"

Why not? Look at all the interconnecting things that keep you alive. Think about the chances of you coming about by purely natural means. I mean YOU, as an individual, not "us humans" - just YOU. Did you "just come into existance" - is that thought any more ridiculous than the first man and woman coming into existance?

But you have come into existence and I don't think you have a problem with that. Why do you accept your own coming into existence when you question that of the first man and woman?

Because conception, gestation, birth are natural undirected processes that we know about.

The "Intelligent Design" argument is simply "I do not understand it". You and I don't understand a lot of things. Proves nothing, demonstrates nothing and, unfrotunately doesn't actually mean an awful lot.

What do you mean who came up with the idea of evolution?

You can't have come in to existence without logical thought - yet you reject creationism!

You are one of the most confused people I've ever come across.

I think you'd better have a talk with your parents about why they did the dirty if you simply must have an origin theory.

The chemicals that genes are made of- amino acids- have been created in a laboratory using nothing more than a few chemicals and an electric charge. I think it's safe to say that given hundreds of millions of years the correct conditions would exist somewhere on earth.

The fact that you have logical thought, after millions of years of evolution,is WHY you asked that question!

We evolved we were not 'invented'. Evidence shows that everything adapts to the conditions that prevail. For instance the weather change in the UK now means I have had a crop of olives in my back garden. Humans have evolved according to the conditions. Why we were different from our cousins the monkeys I don't know. Good question and I don't think you will get the complete answer...

Seeing as most people either believe in evoloution or that their God or Gods created them how are we supposed to answer this question without using either of those things?

You must mean who was dumb enough to invent humans. Only a fool would create somthing so hell-bent on destroying the rest of the stuff he created.

Why is thought required?

Is the fact that given any circle, it's circumferance divided by its diameter will always give 3.1415926535897... because of intelligence, or because of the intrinsic nature of a circle?

Could a deity or creator have made circles have some other ratio?
