sooo i was wondering....
I heard about something called Herbal Essences
Brunette Shampoo.
How much is it and where can I get it?

just so I am sure of what is going on, your dad will not let you dye your hair, but he will let you get highlights, or are these natural highlights?

My suggestion is to talk to your mom, or an aunt who understands that dyeing your hair does not necessarily mean it is going to turn into black, or blue, or hot pink. You are just looking for a change. Then have your mom/aunt have a chat with your father. he just doesn't want his little growing up.

Also, PLEASE have it done professionally, otherwise you never know how it will turn out. My friend went blond (used the same color/brand for months) and one day it turned her hair a purplish/grey color instead of blond.

That shampoo won't actually color your hair. It just keeps brunette hair looking rich, shiny and healthy. There IS a product that your dad might let you use though. It's a 'temporary rinse' and comes in a tall silvery brown bottle. (Can't remember the name, sorry!) You put it in your hair and comb it through. It's supposed to last just a couple of days but when I tried it, it came out after the first wash. It used to be available at Wal-Mart and still might be, but I know they carry it at Sally's Beauty Supply or any of the other beauty supply stores. And no, you don't need a cosmetology license to go in and buy it. Good luck and I hope your dad chills soon - it's just hair. : )

If your dad won't let you dye your hair, perhaps he'll let you use henna. Henna is a natural hair conditioner which can change the color of your hair for a couple of days or a couple of weeks. It comes in shades of neutral, blond, red, brunette and black.

One very good brand of henna is Light Mountain. Check out the website: http://www.lotuspress.com/ltmtn.htm

Well, it depends on what color you'd like your hair to be. I recommend that you try the L'oreal color mousse (It's made just for teens) . It dyes your hair, but comes out only after a few shampoos.

brunette shampoo (any brand) wont dye your hair.... it simply works best for brunette hair at keeping the colour looking bright and shiney.
