Sometime after he turned a year old, probably closer to a year and a half.
EDIT:
I am certainly not an anti TV parent and I admit there are days my son watches more TV than he should, but I find incredibly sad and somewhat disturbing that there are so many people here saying that they plopped their infants down in front of the TV at 7 months of age and earlier. In this day and age of toys and infant entertainment devices, such as play saucers, jumpers, and play domes, there is no excuse for sitting an infant in front of the TV except lazy parenting.

None of our children were allowed to watch TV until they were 3. My 2 year old attempts to stop and stare when one of his siblings is watching a show, but the older ones are quick to tell me if I don't catch it within a minute or two. I am a firm believer in no TV until at least age 3, and then after that, they are only allowed 1 hour per day maximum. There is so much more for them to do! They can read, play games, play with their toys, jump rope, and the list goes on and on!

my daughter will sit and watch a baby einstein video for about 20 minutes she's been doing that since she was 4 months old. I'm not one of those people who think TV is bad for children (but I do think that certian shows are for certian ages children shouldn'
t be watching adult shows)

The tv's always on for background noise. Day five....after we brought him home. It's usually PBS or some movie in the DVD player. Can't stand sitcoms, soaps, reality tv, etc. My music disturbs my neighbors....otherwise, I'd just play CDs.
