Last night I climbed out of my bed
and reached the stars so high
I found the brightest one of all
and picked it from the sky
I've put it in this card for you
and if you look close you'll see
it holds a magic kiss inside
a kiss to you from me....

Parent Love
by Shelby M. Forrest

A parent¹s love is an innate love
That appears at the time of a birth.
No measurement yet has been designed
To determine its value and worth.

Through tender years, into adulthood,
Giving nurture with deep love and care,
Making certain the needs of growth are met,
A responsible parent is there.

Though freely given, a parent¹s love
At times may seem unrequited.
When a child mistakes that love for control
Relationships often are blighted.

Sometimes freely giving of assistance and love
Brings not the intended contentment,
And a lack of appreciation may turn
Into a bitter resentment.

Each child is a free and an uncontrolled soul.
No two of them ever the same.
So when things goes wrong, it¹s hard to know
Just who or what is there to blame.

So what is the answer, just what can be done?
I have not the wisdom to say.
Just keep on the giving of unselfish love
(And it might help a wee bit to pray).

I would simply stick to mummy i love you or daddy i love you or mummy and daddy i love you. To be fair thats what most 3 year olds would say anyway, i love my kids telling me they love me, i think it should be kept to that. x

Mummy is pink
Daddy is blue
