Now is a good time. After the child is 2,she can sleep in bed.If you are worried about falling off the bed,put some pillows on the floor beside the bed.

Now is a good time to start weening her into her own toddler bed. Or if you have a regular twin for her, make sure there is a tumble bar there to prevent her from falling out of bed. If that happens she'll be scared to sleep by herself. I used to keep a night lamp on in their room until they fell asleep so they wouldn't be too scared. I had a night lamp that was actually an aquarium, with animated fish in it, but it also had a projection that would shine on the ceiling and show the fish swimming across it. It also played soothing music. You can get those night lamps pretty much anywhere. I think it's playschool or lil tikes or something like that. Good luck

Not being a doctor, or knowing your child, Most children at this age are in bed by 8:00. It depends on their lifestyle, your lifestyle, like how active is the child through the day? Do they have a nap during the day? When do you serve the evening meal? But, most children are in bed by 8:00. Also, medical problems such as sickness can really change the normal time for bed. Trust yourself and experiment with your child and see which time is the best for you and them.

We transferred our daughter from the crib to a full size bed when she was 2, even though she looked tiny in it!! She was able to get in & out of it by herself plus we used side rails to help prevent her falling off. Her baby sister then got the crib untill she was 2 & started sleeping with her sister, it all worked out well. Later on they each had a twin size bed!

I would put her in a twin size bed with railings on the sides. This way she can grow into it and you don't have to worry about buying another bed for quite some time... also remember to buy a mattress pad so that nothing gets absorbed into the mattress!! =) Best of luck!

as soon as they start climbing out of the cot.

i work in daycare and most parents have kids in a bed between 2 and 2 1/2 years.

if u think they will out just put something soft beside the bed

A cot??
Well they should be in a bassinet/cradle for 6month's, then a crib for another yrs. Then next step is a toddler bed.I think your daughter is ready for a toddler bed in her room. When you put her to bed when she screams and cries leave her be,she will eventually fall asleep in her new bed,or you can even make it fun for her...mabey get her favorite dolly a new bed and have her put her dolly to sleep then she goes to sleep like dolly.
Good luck!!

I think it depends on the child- height, weight and you...... are you comfortable with moving your child to a bed? I think the average age is 2-3. If you do decide to move her into a bed, get a children's bed with railing on the sides to keep her from falling out if she rolls over.

Good luck!

once they have outgrown the crib at about 2 or before, then the next usual step is a toddler bed- or a small bed with rails on the side so they dont roll off at night.

it depends, its different for every child. my oldest was only 15 months when we put him in a bed, bc he was constantly climbing out of his crib. but my youngest didnt go to a bed til right before he turned 3. you know your child better than anyone.

when we put our kids in the bed we talked about it for a few dyas before, talking about how big kids sleep in beds. theres a good chance she will keep getting up her first few days, just be consistent and put her back in bed every time she gets up.

good luck! :)
