I'd say it was a little closer to the same number then either side wish to admit.

Oh absolutely.
I do already know about history. History is important, I subscribe to the view that "those who do not remember their history are doomed to repeat it". It is very bad how many people (not just Christian) conveniently "forget" inconvenient facts about their history. Now can you come back with a reason why there should be complete moral equivalance between:
- You did something and
- You are doing something
or a reason why the following should hold true:
- You did it, so its ok for me to do it
Maybe I'm reading too much into your words, please tell me if I am, but that appears to be implied by them.
What is certainly within your words is the "body count" argument. If I try and kill you this is bad. I would say that it is equally immoral of me whether I succeed in my aim or not. What is immoral is the intention not the result. The USA, for example, have killed more people in Iraq than the insurgents. Now does this mean they are more evil? (Leave the question aside for one moment of whether or not they are more evil - this is a question about how you establish it). Why have they killed more people? Its probably because they have the tools to do it. Having technology is not immoral. Arguing that the USA are worse than the insurgents SOLELY on the basis that they have killed more is attributing immorality to capability. The "body count" argument doesn't work.

For crying out loud You don't have any numbers.
You don't even have the facts right.
A war can not be put in this Christian crap your dishing out.
The middle east and the arab muslims have been killing for centuries. More muslims die today by the hundreds..." BY other muslims ". No one keeps track of the numbers because no one cares.
I accept your calling us (me) sheep.. if you accept being the pig ,that has garbage as their knowledge.
The mascaras throughout that region has it's root back before the Romans. Christians weren't even there then. Your idea sucks.
Get real and support the war against terrorism in islam.

Boo-hoo, boo-hoo. WHO has and who hasn't taken responsibility for their groups past actions? do you even have a CLUE what edicts and apologies HAVE been issued? Where have you gotten your numbers FROM? Are you taking into account the common practice of increasing the number of war-dead to symbolically praise the leaders???? What the hell, you are the one to be called a sheep. WHO fed you this crap so you could just spit it out without even QUESTIONING those who told you? Who's mouthpiece are you. Get a clue! In the past Muslims and Christians did many bad, bad things that they thought were actually positive in the name of their religion. Today, Christians don't fight for anything. If you honestly believe that they do, then the info you are getting is flawed. Don't be a sheep, examine all things you are told critically!

Islam has done its fair share as well. India was a particular mess. Did you think everyone in Indeonesia converted willingly to Islam?
The problem isn't Islamic or Christian doctrine....you can find what you want to find in either....the problem is people.
Since right now Muslim nations tend to be less well off financially, less well educated, and have greater disparity of wealth......the people tend to be more reactionary. It's easier to recruit crazies in states of chaos. Since much more of the Arab world exists in a state of chaos...it is much easier to find extremists.

I think anyone murdered in the name of religion is a tragedy.
I would also point out that the crimes of the past do not justify the crimes of the present.
Your point is well taken. I would point out however that religious extremists of all creed have access to weapons of far greater power today.
so lets all stop doing it ok?

Those people weren't Christians.
I can't picture Jesus doing that. Can you?
We're called to follow Jesus, the savior, God.
Not the pope.
