Is your brain drained of common sense? It's wartime, or hadn't you noticed? PUT DOWN THE JOINT AND STEP BACK!!!

ONLY if you get caught!

It is NOT illegal if your last name is Cheney and you're Vice President (why do you think Dubya won't go hunting with Cheney?)

All kidding aside, it REALLY depends on the circumstances. If you have a legally registered weapon and you are licensed, and if you can prove are defending yourself from what you perceive to be a life-threatening situation (against an armed robber, mugger), you can use lethal force to defend your life or that of someone else, or you defend yourself against an aggressor and you perceive the situation to be life-threatening and you are acting in self-defense... or against someone who breaks into your home or is committing armed robbery or attacking you and/or a loved one... there are a lot of variables.

About 30 years ago, a neighbor was home when someone broke into his apartment (had a butcher knife) and the man used the bar from what is called a Fox Lock to his front door to hit the burglar who had the knife in his hand... he hit the burglar once and called the police. They saw the broken window and the bent window gate... the tenant was arrested and spent time in jail for manslaughter. Bad public defender? Justice gone bad? Go figure!

It is illegal to shoot people in the U.S. with the exception of self-defense. In regards to Iraq, Iraq is at war with itself and less now then earlier with the U.S. most U.S. soldiers don't shoot Iraqis lately as they rely on guerrilla tactics to make up for the lack of military technology available to them.

Of course it is. There is a difference between shooting someone for no reason versus self defense in a war time situation.

Unless you are in law enforcement or the military, it is illegal to shoot anyone unless it is in self-defense.
