Ask your doctor about an exercise routine. Regular exercise, such as walking three times a week, may reduce neuropathy pain, improve your muscle strength and help control blood sugar levels. Gentle routines such as yoga and tai chi might also help.

I had that happen to me and it turned out to be athletes foot. Sometimes my feet would burn and sometimes just itch really bad. I used Tinactin and it worked really well. Also the more you stay barefoot the better. Feet tend to itch and burn more when they're hot.

I have this condition myself, it is caused by arthritis, or from nerve damage to your back or Achilles heel. Seek a better Doctor. This is not rare, wearing tight shoes could cause this also, if it only happens rarely. seek a Podiatry Doctor which can help you with this problem.

It is not at all unusual and I have it from time to time: it usually heralds an attack of plantar faciitis (inflamation of the sheath of tendon under your foot). It can be relieved by painkillers, rest and physiotherapy, where they may also treat it with ultrasound. Self refer yourself to physio if you can, or see another GP at your practice.
