I got a bad cold, and wasn't kissing my girlfriend, but she was around and very close, so she contracted the cold a few days later. Is it a bad idea to kiss her, even though we have the same virus? Or does it matter now that we're both infected already?

When it comes to sickness, you can only have the same sickness once. Colds come in millions of different strands, so you can have a cold more than once...but you can't have to same cold strand twice. Your body builds an immunity to it as you get better.

Its why you get a flu shot, they're actually injecting the flu virus into you, so you feel crummy for a few days, but then you can't get it again...

So, as long as it's the same cold she got from you, then go ahead....do what you like.

You can kiss her if you want the cold back. Even though you both have the same sort of germ it is most likely you are getting over it before her since you got it first. Colds in adults last 10-14 days. So go ahead and kiss away but neither one of you will get better any time soon you will just keep passing it on to each other over and over and over.

It's fine to kiss her, b/c you both already have the same cold.

When you get sick from a common cold virus, it's just your body fighting it. Once you aren't sick anymore, it means your immune system has created an immunity to that virus and it can never make you sick again. So kiss away!
