I'll post a link to my flickr pictures with a few pictures of my new puppy. She is 8 weeks old and her mom was a pure bred beagle. We don't know what her father was, she was a rescue pup. She had other siblings, 2 that were white and red spotted (spots the color she is), 2 were typical beagle markings and one was all black with brown on its face. Any guesses as to what she might be a mix of (her color just seems so strange to me, for a beagle and her ears don't seem as big as some beagle pups).

Regardless, she's a sweetheart. :) Thanks for your help!

It is hard to tell with a puppy, as it matures more signs may appear. Maturity will see a different shape to the head, and body structure.

But from the discriptions of the siblings, I would guess a mutt. No matter at this point, if it wasn't a beagle you got a pure bred mutt, and be proud of that. She'll have the tenacity of a beagle and the trait's of any other breed she can claim as her heritage.

I believe she may be a Beagle/Cocker mix or a Beagle/Chihuahua mix. Her coloration closely resembles either breed but with dog's you may never know what breeds she is mixed with. I have five mutts and they all look different. They are all from the same mother yet they take on different qualities.

I don't know what she is but I agree she doesn't look like a beagle. My pup is white and black and his mom was all brown and his dad was all black. Another mixed breed mystery. Puppies are so cute!

I will have to agree, you really can not tell what bread she is mixed with untill she gets older, and fills out some.

but i can tell you that her coat color does not match the normal color scheme of a Beagle, almost all Beagle are tri color or red and white, so, she is mixed with something, but cant know for sure till she is older.

I give up.. what?
WOW, I haven't looked at the pictures, but you sure are getting quite a few different breeds and some of them are like they don't know what you have, I mean some say chihuahua, and another say a beagle. They don't look anything alike, what is up with these people.??

First of all.... LOLA is ADORABLE!!! She is the cutest little thing I've ever seen!!
With her bright red color, I would guess she is maybe part dachshund?? Even though she doesn't have the characteristic body shape, she has the same ears (kind of) and looks like she will not grow to be very large. I don't know if a dachshund's "weiner dog" shape is recessive....
Anyway, she's cute as can be!

At eight weeks old, it's impossible to tell what she's mixed with.

Body shape and size are what's mainly used in determining mixed breeds and you can't get a proper idea of that until the dog's fully grown.

She's so beautiful. It is still too early to know but follow her growth. The color reminds me of a Boxer but hard to say. You would need to know the color of the mother. Could be Lab as well.
