We discovered a main reason our son was up and crying several times a night is that he was thirsty. This was around 13-15 months. Now he goes to bed with a half-cup of water in a sippy cup every single night. We always put the cup in the same spot (in the corner above his pillow) so he'll know where to find it. It went a LONG way to getting him to stop calling out at night and he sleeps through most nights. Now if he does call out, at least we know it's not because he's thirsty. I'd say go for it and enjoy your night's sleep.

If you must give a bottle in bed then water is best, as the other response said, milk and juice can cause cavities, but it can also cause whats called bottle rot, and decay along the gumline. Dont give juices, water is best.

I think its ok to let your child have a little water to take to bed with him/her. Like adults sometimes children wake up thirsty.
As long as its a little water (25ml) i carnt see the harm in it.

I never thought of doing that, had no reason to. The only time my daughter had a bottle was when I was holding her and feeding her. I never gave it to her to have in bed or to walk around with or anything.

Yes, water is fine. I would not send milk or juice to bed with him but water is a good choice.

definitely do NOT give him juice, it'll decay his teeth with all of that sugar, even the 100% variety. I know it's tempting to do but don't give him anything to take to bed. It's not good for his teeth.

its best not to because later he'll only sleep well with bottles, and it will never end! if he's thirsty, he'll cry.. but you don't want to get him hooked on bottles for too long because it can mess up his teeth. however if you really want to give him something to drink water is best because juice will just rot his little teeth! this happened to my nephew, his baby teeth got major cavities

yes...if he needs a drink in bed, water is the best....as the sugar in juice and milk will cause cavities.

i think that as long as its water and nothing with sugar in it and the top is really on tight then its fine.
