In the US, a can of Coke has 140 calories.

With regard to the 'kcal' vs 'cal' question...
Technically, 'kcal' and 'cal' are different measures. But, in this case, for some reason, 'kcal' and 'cal' are used interchangeably. It just seems that Europe uses 'kcal' and the US uses 'cal'.

In short, 42 kcal = 42 calories. I know that sounds odd for all you metric conversion people out there, but that's the way it is.
