I went to the store and the customer in line was purchasing this product. But he had know idea if it worked or not. So I went to the pharacist and he named off a couple of medicines that will help my conditions and Mucinex was one. But it is kinda pricey. I was just wondering if anyone have used it and how did it work for you.

Actually this strength (very close to it) was prescription strength about a year ago. It was Humibid and Humibid DM. very good product. drink lots of water and warm fluids. Where "a simple man" is wrong is that this is a longer acting form. You wont take it nearly as often (that's why it costs more)

Mucinex is a product that increases secretions from the goblet cells. These cells trap the water and increase the mucous so that you can get rid of it as well as infection. R is right , there is no drug interaction, however, the Claritin will dry you up and the Mucinex will loosen you up. There is no way to know which reaction will occur. It may cancel the other out, or one may over ride the other. I f you are stuffy and congested, I would suggest Claritin D if you know it is allergies. If it seems to be a cold take mucinex and Sudafed or Mucinex D and drink a lot of water. Use a humidifier, avoid, dairy, caffeine, and tobacco. Claritin may take 3-4 days to work if your starting it now. Mucinex should begin much sooner.

yes, I've used it and it does work. Often times you can get the brand made by the store that is the same med but cheaper. Kind of like a generic.

Mucinex is the same old Guaifenisen that is in Robitussin from years ago in a new package with new advertising.
It thins mucous (everywhere).

a simple man is right; it is the same ingredient that robitussin has; there is a different concentration of the guaifennessin though; both of them work great and if you are congested then hot steamy showers and a steamer in the bedroom works great too. hope you feel better.

I've used it, as long as you follow directions it works great. Warning: swallow it as fast as you can b/c it has a very bitter taste! ;p
