I recently brought home a shih tzu puppy to find out both of my 2yr old shih tzu's don't want nothing to do with her. My adult male is constantly growling and trying to bite the puppy(which is very unlike him) Does anyone have any ideas that will help me to get everyone to get along?

Not sure if it's too late or not. Whenever you bring home a new pet (cat, dog), you should keep the new pet locked up in one room. Let your current pets and the new pet sniff each other from under the door. Your male is probably feeling pretty territorial. After a week of that (if there's no aggression shown), put your puppy in a crate so your adults can sniff through the crate and get to know the newbie. A week later (again, no aggression shown), let the puppy out to physically meet the adults face-to-face. Keep him in the crate until the male stops his aggression. Always supervise. It might be a few months until you can leave your puppy all alone with the adults (start with an hour, couple of hours, and so on). This stuff takes time so I hope you have a lot of patience. Especially since you'll be working backwards.

There is also the possibility the new pup will NOT ever be accepted by the male. At that point, you might have to give it up for the sake of your adult male. It's stressful to them.

Your adult is growling/biting a lot because the introduction/change to environment was too abrupt. Plus, he's probably showing the puppy who's boss. Good luck!

im not sure if this helps but i first got a flat coat retriever and she disnt really like dogs... AT ALL... so it was a bit tence when we got our new cocker spaniel puppy. we were pretty sure that Jessie (the flat coat) would be fine if we introduced them properly and they were!!! they are inseparable. this is what we did. we put jessie on a holtie lead so she couldnt bite the pup (millie) and had millie on a plain lead theis let jessie sniff millie without biting then millie being able to wonder around normally around jessie. it worked pretty well and after about three, four attempts jessie was wagging her tail and not growling. now they love each other's company.
oh but if one of your shih tzus/ both hav a tendancy to nip the new pup then just hold the holty tight and keep the dog on a short lead and close to your body
