He will eat all of the baby cereals and most of the stage two jar foods. The problem is that when I try to give him stage three foods he refuses to eat it. He gags and shudders then turns away. This child already has six teeth. Why won't he eat chunky food.

Just keep trying with the new foods. He probably doesn't know what to think about it quite yet because it has a different taste and texture. The more you try maybe he will know he has to eat it. My baby was the same way but eventually she tried it and liked them. Hope this helps and good luck with that.

The latest guidelines suggest that a baby should not have solid foods until they are 6 months old. By that model, your child could still be on stage 1 foods.

I don't think there's any need to rush this. When my child was about your child's age, we started to feed him mushed bananas, mushed avocados, and that rice stuff that comes in a box. Mushy things are better for babies that age. They need to be brought along slowly.

I believe that stage 3 is meant for toddlers. Your child is still an infant. So don't rush it.

It depends on if your child can eat and if he/she has teeth. My baby had teeth at 4 teeh at 4 months so we fed him solid mushy things like mashed potatoes. fried eggs, rice, soft fruit, and mushy fries. Also if your childs appetite isn't being satisfied by formula try blending up food and putting it in baby cereal and putting that mixture into a feeder. (You can by them at drug stores.)

Because he's seven months old. he's just not ready. let him continue with his stage 2 foods until he is ready. Theres no huge rush.
