Temptation is not a sin. Even Jesus was tempted by Satan in the desert, but he did not give in to him. He hit him with scripture and warded off the temptation.

Giving in to temptation is the bad part. The Bible presents people just the way they are, warts and all. Nobody's perfect. We all have flaws, we all sin, we all make mistakes. But when we do, we can go to God in prayer and receive forgiveness and answers for all our problems.

Being tempted is not bad itself, but giving into that temptation is what the Bible frowns upon.

Temptation is not bad. Giving into it is, if it will lead you into sin.

Because it is taking you away from the glory of God. Satan fell from the glory of God along time ago and is tempting people to do the same.
