These parents are just hurting their daughter even more. If she can't get a grip over something this small how can she learn to live in the real world. I think they are leaving their daughter very ill equipped for life. The funniest part is now that bad picture is plastered all over the world.

"the embarrassing image will haunt Asheasa for the rest of her life."

You did not think about life-long embarrassment when you named her Asheasa?

How long has it been since you looked at your 3rd grade year book? Does it haunt you?

I am with you that the parents did the stupidest thing they could do and give this pic to the press. Wow, talk about not thinking.

I am sorry, I just can't buy this. So what. Yes, they are teaching their daughter that life will always be 'fair' and it is not, they are teaching that when something does not go your way, cry about it, they are teaching her failure to be responsible for your actions - good or bad.

Screwballs.

This is just another example of how people expect the WORLD to cater to their child. For ONE KID, who in all reality don't seem to care much, they are demanding the school recall 200 books and lose how much money? Oh wait... are these parents gonna buy new books for everyone? OR are those other kids parents gonna have to buy a second book? The school will probably have to eat the damages. That is ridiculous. And who in the world has never had a picture in a yearbook that SUCKED??? Get a grip.

That is just ridiculous!!! I've never had a GOOD year book picture! I can't believe her parent's would focus on her looks that much it's just not right. They need to me teaching their daughter that looks aren't everything. What are they going to do when one day some boy or some girl tells her she's ugly! I'm not saying she is but at some point every ones told my some one that they are ugly! I think this is just another example of bad parenting.

Because they are reactionary pinheads who haven't bothered teaching their daughter to get a grip on reality. I was sick the day my 6th grade yearbook photo got taken, and I didn't realize that my headband was falling off my head. It looked ridiculous! Did I whine and demand that all the yearbooks be recalled? NO. I threw it in my closet and said "Well that sucks."
It is ironic that they don't want 200 sixth graders to have the photo, but now it's posted on website viewable by millions of people?

since when do 6th graders get year books? What ever happened to the whole "class picture" thing? I didn't get a year book until I was in high school. The pic would have died down in a week or two if left alone but now it WILL haunt the poor girl for the rest of her life.

LOL! i wish i could show you MY third grade photo... lol. I had this self made hair cut, and one of those REEEAALLY thin braids with beads at the end hanging clear down the picture, my smile was up on one side of my mouth, and down on the other, and one eye was half closed, and my chipped baby tooth was TOTALLY in plain view.

lol.

It certainly scarred me for life. I was never the same. As a result I have spent my life hiding in shadows and exhibiting some of the WORST sarcastic tendancies known to man kind.

Those parents need to get a freaking grip.

Well lord knows I sure didn't like all of my yearbook photos growing up, or photos in general LOL. But that aside, it's a bad photo, big deal? They are making a very big deal over something that should be small...Good Morning America...over a yearbook photo? Give me a break, they are definitely setting an example that is not realistic in life...geez...God must really like stupid people, cause he sure made a lot of them...LOL

I agree the parents are just hurting the kids more by trying to protect them from real life. They just want what is best but pick your battles. Some of the hardest lessons I learned as a kid wasn't from my mom or dad but from life in general.

OMG how stupid is this. Looking back 20 some odd years later at my middle school photos, who really gives a crap. What you look like in your middle school or even high school yearbook hardly depicts what you'll look like later in life anyways. The only yearbook photo that should really count in my opinion is your senior photo. The others don't matter and when we look back and remember our old school chums, not once have we reached for our middle school yearbook. Come on already.

That's a real shame. Those parents are pretty shallow. The picture is not even that bad for crying out loud. What is even more pathetic is that ABC published this story and the picture. Shame on them!
