I am looking at having my colors be purple and silver, and i am having a hard time finding bridesmaid dresses in those colors that look elegant for an evening wedding. Please help, and it is not a themed wedding. I just have those colors.

I had the same colors and mine was an evening wedding also. My bridesmaids wore dark grape-colored dresses, just a dark purple basically. I got mine from Alfred Angelo for VERY reasonable prices.

I'm not sure if I would go with totally purple dresses, some of your girls may think that they'll look like a grape--LOL....
But I do like the color scheme..so don't take that personally...
If I were going with those colors, for an elegant evening wedding, I think that I would go w/platinum silver dresses (not shiney and metallic)and use your "purple of choice" sashes.
The jewelry could be silver w/amethyst stones.
Then just do your flowers in a mix of purples w/silver ribbon. For a splash of color, you could throw in a nice accent color based on what time of year your wedding is....pinks/coral for spring, yellows for summer, reds/oranges for fall, or white for winter.

Hope this helps a little!

Find the style and depth of purple you want you might want to keep it as simple as possible. Then find a seamstress who can give you some ideas on how to incorporate silver. Try a sash around the waist with a long piece hanging down pretty far or try a silver "drape" over the shoulders. A good seamstress will be able to help you decide what will look the best. Then go to a nice fabric store with the seamstress and pick out the fabric.

I am going to be in a wedding in May and her colors are purple and periwinkle and silver! Our dresses are from David's Bridal and are lavander! They are gorgeous! Here is a link to the dress...check it out if you want! And the second link is the dress that I had for my wedding, just in a different color. Very similar dress, although the second one has a bit more detail with the embroidery! They also have the same dresses in different shades of purple too! Good luck!!

Check out this web site:

I know it's not a store in your area, but it has links to great bridesmaid dress designers. You should have no problem finding a dress on one of the included sites, such as Jordan and Alfred Sung.

I am also getting married and my colors are cranberry and white. Even though I found my bridesmaid dresses, I highly recommend you look at Jordan dresses. The bridal shops should have the line, but they make absolutely amazing dresses. Mine that I picked are the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen. So look at them and see what you think.

You should be able to atleast find purple dresses or colors similar to the purple you are looking for. You can incorporate the silver in the belt/sash on the dress. For belt, you can purchase wide satin silver ribbon and add that onto the dress yourself.

I had purple and yellow and silver.. and I wasn't able to find any dresses that I liked either, and actually had to have mine made... this is the best time to go to the bridal shops and even go and look at prom dresses, they are starting to get those out now... best of luck to you!

Sounds REALLY pretty!!!! I would think that the shade of purple would be found in a formal wear store if not in a bridal shop. I would go o Michaels and get some silk flowers and spray them silver to incorporate in the boquets.
