Angle grinder will do the job if you don't have too much to do. Buy one for about £15 and a 4" diamond blade for about £8. If you have lots to do hire a Stihl saw. Runs on petrol, hire for about £25 per week, but be careful if not used properly could take your leg off!!!

You didn't say if you're installing new tile or brick or want to cut a hole in some that's already installed.
For new stuff you're going to install, the right tool is a wet saw. The place where you buy the material probably will rent you one for a reasonable price by the day or week. they cost a couple of hundred bucks and up, so unless you plan to do a lot of this stuff, you probably don't need to buy one.
If you need to cut a hole in existing (already installed) tile or brick, two things come to mind. Rotozip for small jobs. The tools costs about $80. For a bigger job you can buy cut off wheels for you circular saw or special blades for most any other kind of electric saw.
Cutting existing tile slate or brick is a VERY dust raising job. Keep that in mind when working on this.

It's a diamond edged circular saw blade! If you live near a Home Depot, they will cut your pre-marked slate or bricks or tiles, FREE for the first 5-10 straight cuts and a minimal fee for additional cuts... then you can use a "tile nipper" to finish the curved edges or use a "Dremel tool" with a stone grinding bit or a diamond tipped bit.

Rent one for the day and have all of your cutting figured out ahead of time. Or you can buy a diamond blade for your circular saw if there isn't alot of cutting. If you plan on going into the business, then spend a huge amount of money and purchase one. Just make sure that you can justify the cost!

A wet saw, rent one at Home Depot. Depends on how large you tile or brick is. What size job that you are trying to do. Doesn't sound to me that you know enough about the job that you are attempting to do. You may want to hire a professional

commonly known as a stihl saw, stilh is actually a brand name but along with makita generally regarded as the best , they are expensive to buy so hire 1 it will cost u about 20 quid for the day,, but keep in mind if you are cutting things indoors eg: doorways you may want to hire one that wet cuts(attach a hose pipe that sprays water at the cut) to minimise dust.
