Do you know of a free software for....?

Question

memory management, would like to know if there is a software o the net that can help with startup management and also system resources management so that I can assure that I have better boot ups and processing timings? Thanks!

Here are a couple of really good programs for managing what starts up. Much better than "msconfig".

Autoruns
This was originally available from a company that Microsoft has since bought up, and the chief engineers are now working for MS also. Get it here....

To Monitor the memory on your PC here's a great little program that puts a meter on your taskbar. It shows how much RAM you are NOT currently using (remaining).
FreeRAM XP Pro
Get it at http://www.download.com

You can "reclaim" memory after you've booted up or been running for awhile. This program adjusts RAM usage to minimum level so that you have more RAM available for your use.
Speed It Up III Extreme
Get it at http://www.download.com

Up top to the right find "Downloads" next page scroll down and on right I think it Utilities and look there.
Let me warn you of one I try to find real quick and give you the name. When I tried to install my Virus Software found a Worm so I deleted it, because there are others.

My Virus Scan caught the Worm on install. Said it contain the virus signature.
[DETECTION] Contains signature of the worm WORM/Warezov.A.5
[INFO] The file was deleted!

It may be an OK, but, it did not sit right with me. I did try the software and it seemed to work. But, I just did not like seeing the Worm deal.
But, there a Download count of 154288, so, it probably OK.
