Just let the general surgeon do what s/he is suppose to do on tuesday and see what happens. Hopefully you don't have cancer. But if you do, jsut follow all the treatments your oncologist tells you to go through and hope for the best. Also get your friends and family to support you.

The best thing to do is calm down. Cancer is a progression of cells in your own body reproducing rapidly and at a mutated rate. You getting all freaked out can cause cancer to progress more rapidly because it helps the cells reproduce quicker. I'm sorry to hear that though.

Also, don't believe everything you read on the internet. I have a cancerous coundition known as Arteriovenous Malformations. Which are mini-tumors on the brain. Your OB/GYN probably found what may be a tumor. There are many types. A malignant tumor is much more serious than a benign one.

There are many treatment options including chemo, radiation therapy, etc. Diagnosis of cancer doesn't mean its the end of the world. If isn't for me.

Your OB/Gyn was out of line for telling you this. Until you've been biopsied no one knows for sure. Swollen lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy) is usually caused by viral or bacterial infection but can also be due to allergic reaction, arthritis, metabolic diseases and hyperthyroidism - and not just due to lymphomic cancer. Keep your spirits up and think positive. I could punch your doctor out for this!

On the other hand, if you asked what possible things this could mean and the doctor included cancer as a possibility and you went home having interpreted this to mean that you might have cancer, then calm down. The biopsy will tell all and the odds are against it.

I know what you are going through. I was told I may have cancer, and remember feeling the helplessness that you felt. It won't help me saying this but worrying about what 'might' be now won't help you.

I got the worst confirmation awful, and my doctor told me to "go home and get my affairs in order" as it was worst case cancer in my Liver.. That was over 1.5 years ago and I'm still fighting fit and making fantastic progress.

So 2 things you should concentrate on now.
1. Your friends and family, you will need them while you go through this roller coaster (Hopefully next week you'll need them for a big celebratory night out, as your worry was for nothing)
2. Today.. None of us know whats around the corner for any of us, and although my prognosis was so bad 1.5 years ago I already have outlived quite a few "healthy" acquaintances.. No matter what your told, you can cope, and live life to the full.

Think positive thoughts, as I believe the mind is much more powerful than we give it credit for!!

take deep breaths. You don't know anything for certain, yet. It will take surgery and biopsies to get you an official answer, one way or the other. Right now, just prepare for your appt with the surgeon.

My hubby had Hodgekins in 1997. He had 4 chemo meds. Treatment lasted about 6 months. He is fine today.

Good luck.

The common cold and the flu can cause swollen Lymph nodes. Don't panic!!!
Your OBGYN is somewhat irresponsible for telling you that. You need to be tested, and a diagnosis based on swollen nodes is premature. As mentioned earlier there are begnign reasons why your lymph nodes are swollen and unless your are tested and malignant cells are found, you are just one amongst many millions of people whose lymph nodes have swollen due to cold, flu , or infection.

With God All Things Are Possible .
I shall pray for you.

1.NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE

Nothing is impossible
With the Lord in our lives
He causes doors to open
So we can walk inside

To brand new opportunities
We never knew before
To a new exciting level
In our walk with the Lord

With faith in our hearts
And our hand in His hand
We can cross any canyon
And through seas on dry land

For He will make a way
As in faith our walk begins
What seems to us impossible
Is possible with Him

When feeling like it’s all too much
Remember in the past
How God had made a way for you
When you came to Him and asked

And He again will answer you
And show you so much more
As you keep on trusting Him
And walking with the Lord

2.DESERT TIMES

There are times in our lives
The Lord may lead us through
A lifeless, barren desert
A time of testing too

But desert times can be
A place of special growth
Where God can do a work
And let His healing flow

I know that in these times
We don't feel God is there
We feel so very distant
And lost without His care

But God is there beside you
To bring you to a place
Of cool refreshing waters
Flowing with His grace

But for the present moment
You maybe in a drought
Don't give up on your faith
And don't you start to doubt

God is always faithful
And He will walk with you
Through the darkest moments
He'll be leading you.

dont freak stay cool have another look on the net hun the nodes can be up for all sorts of reasons even being run down or an infection.the docs are treading on the air of caution.you dont know at this stage, and if it comes to it many many people get through treatment just fine, when i was an inpatient seemed to be all those with the positive grasp pulled through theres alot to be said for positive attitude.this may just be a silly little blip or a bit of a hurdle dont allow it to be anymore than that my love\!

You are stressing out, and sometimes talking to someone can help you put things in perspective. I might not share with everyone at Sunday dinner, but tell a trusted relative or trusted friend what the doctor said. Not "I got cancer" but "the dr said I might have it". Then they can comfort you and give you the support you need. best of luck and God Bless you!

Call your primary care dr and tell he/she. They may be able to give you something to relax. They may want you to call an oncologist also. Take a deep breath- freaking out is going to make you emotionally and physically sick. There is nothing you can do until you see the dr on Tuesday so try to relax. Call a friend to come over and keep you company. You should not be alone right now.
