I can totally relate to this question If I'm home the whole day I will snack away. Keeping yourself busy should help curb the munchies. You should also fill up on water and fiber ( I like hot air popcorn) as well as fruits and vegetables through out the day. Remember 5-6 small meals a day keeps anyone from binging.
P.S Have you tried the 100 calorie snack packs there so good and it definitely helps keep your portion size in check!

Fruit and vegetables like you mentioned are healthy snacks. Yogurt - especially fat-free/ sugar-free - is a good option. Cheese, such as cottage cheese, is low in calories and high in protein. Some non-dairy snacks include almonds (which are full of fat good for your heart) and other nuts, protein bars, crackers such as Triskets are a good source of fiber, etc. Basically, any snack that is not high in sugar (Oreos, chocolate, soda, cake, etc) and is low in fat is a good option. Also, drink water often - you may think you're hungry, but may really only be thirsty.

It's actually better for your metabolism if you eat six small meals or snacks per day (roughly every three hours or so) than it is to eat three square meals per day. When you eat your meals or snacks, you need to have good sources of protein, carbs, and fats (yes, FATS). Best sources of protein are: eggs, fish, poultry, lean cuts of beef, and skim milk. Cheese is good for you but you have to watch the saturated fat content. Best sources of carbs are your fruits and veggies and whole grain products like breads, cereals, or pasta. Best sources of healthy fat are: avocadoes, eggs, fish, fish oil, flax seed, flax seed oil, nuts (any kind, but almonds are best) and olive oil. Avoid anything that has partially or fully hydrogenated oils, processed flour/sugar, or high fructose corn syrup in it. Hard-boiled eggs and nuts are two of the best snacks on the planet for you, and taking a tablespoonful of olive oil three times a day will not only help keep your appetite under control it'll raise your "good" cholesterol while lowering your "bad" cholesterol. And don't forget to drink plenty of water -- at least half a gallon per day. Good luck!

Almonds are my fav. But only a handful. More than that will get you in trouble. If I don't have a yogurt for breakfast, it makes a great midday snack. String cheese is Yummy too! But only 1 piece. Trail mix is good as a handful too.

I think that eating frequently can signal your body that food is plentiful in the environment, and therefore there is no need to store fat. What you eat matters though. Stay the heck away from fudge brownies and non-diet soda.

Don't eat in response to stress.

Eating grape nuts in the morning, and drinking a full-octane mountain dew a couple of hours later was my mistake.

I eat 98% fat free hot dogs and eat fat free chips with my meal. I also limit myself to 2 cokes a day. The main key is to work out before you eat to make that metabalism go. I have lost 40lbs in 3-4wks doing this. Be sure to do as much sit-ups as you can daily and rest on weekends.
