It may be the meds, drugs such as Topamax can cause liver damage.Your friend needs to speak to a doc who only treats those who have epilepsy. When your friend sees the doctor have a list of questions ready for the doc and let the doctor know of any fears he or she is having.

i cant comment on your friend but im on medication that can affect my liver although mine is only slightly affected. there maybe medication her doctor can prescribe thats kinder on her liver but she'd need to discuss that with him. Also high intakes of fatty foods can cause similar wear and tear on the liver as is caused by excessive drinking. im sorry i cant be of more help.
Just a thought -look up the drugs she takes for her epilepsy on the net and you might find out a bit more. Good luck.

It depends on what kind of medication your friend has been taking for her epilepsy. Taking medication for 40years is bound to take its toll on her liver even if it doing her good controlling her epilepsy. i doubt it will be anything serious though, tell her not to worry while she is awaiting her other test results tho, stress worrying wont be good 4 her either. good luck.
