agree with the basic premise. I dont think vietnam veterans suffer from chronic deomoralization because they had to come home. Now Vietnam is one of our trading partner the new bed I got was made there!! No Punji stick were used to build it. Just some guys in a factory over there needing a job and wanting to make some cash. I look forward to the day when we can sell Iraqis a Ford Mustang that would be sooo very sweet. Oh wait Ford is getting huge beatings, maybe we could build a toyota here and sell them one of those. All the gung ho america rules the world drools types better wake up!! We sink 500 B into Iraq and we got a civil war for our efforts. How many CEO's could we have paid for that amount of cash. We might have been able to build a factory or 2.

You are a Moron !!!! First of all, how dare you be so disrespectful to the veterans who gave their all in Vietnam, only to be spit on when they came home by loopie liberals like yourself. When are people in this country going to learn that war, whether you like it or not, is a necessary evil as long as there are nut jobs like Hussein and other dictators who kill all who think different from them. Do you think that what is going on in Sudan is none of our business??? We are the strongest, richest nation in the world. We owe it to those less fortunate then ourselves to help when they have become the victims of Genocide. Or should we just sit back and wait till they bring the war to our front door? Oh, wait, they already did!! Or have you forgotten 9/11. Do more innocent American citizens need to die before you see what is going on in the middle east was the right course of action. If we had a truly strong Republican President who would just bomb the bastards (Islamic terrorists) off the face of the earth, thew world would be all the better for it.

See, this is waht happens when you don't pay attention in school.
So the US got their butts kicked huh? WRONG!!!!
The US was winning, constantly. For instance, the loopy left likes to keep pointing to the Tet Offensive as the turning point in the war, well it was, but for different reasons, none of them military. It was the turing point because one day Walter Cronkite said we were losing, period.
The VC and NVA took more casualties during the Tet Offensive than the US did during the entire war in Viet nam. We were kicking their butts. We lost when the tide turned against the war because the loopy left were all afraid of being drafted.

Oh, what an idiot, if you can't see the differences in Iraq and Vietnam, than you are an imbecile. We didn't lose in Vietnam, the hippies just lost their nerve. We won the war militarily, we forced the North to sign a peace treaty, and we left in peace. We just didn't return when the North invaded again in 1975, because Nixon was no longer president, and Ford didn't have the political capital to do the job.

No; the reason they are getting their "butts kicked" is not because they didn't mind their own business. It's because when they got down to business (business that is rightfully ours), ignorant public sentiment eroded our government's resolve, just as it did in Vietnam.
Both countries (or in the case of Iraq, just the cities) should be parking lots!

You are out of touch with reality. Vietnam is over for about 30 something years, and we accomplished nothing. It fell to the communist, as soon as we pulled out. Iraq will be no different.

AHA!!!
I knew it. Give a liberal enough rope and he'll hang himself.
We have given the Iraqis the gift of Democracy, and the Iraqis voted in massive turnout to honor that gift. So what you're really saying is that Iraqis somehow just aren't smart enough to handle a Democratic form of government.
Remember, the vast majority of the population wants Democracy. It is only the terrorists who oppose it. They count on the naivete of dumber-than-Jane-Fonda types to derail our resolve to supporting the Iraq government until it is strong enough to stand on its own.

The US has no business trying to invoke Democracy on any other country when many in the US government are trying to move our country to more of a Fascist state than a Democracy!
