Last week I attempted to take the antidepressant Lexapro, because it was recommended to me by the fine people here on Yahoo answers, and my doctor agreed it was a good option for me.
Well, last week I had many complications from it--dizziness and my entire body was stiff and swollen) and I even collapsed at work. As a result, my doctor took me off of the meds because she believes I was allergic to it.
This is my third attempt at taking an antidepressant (have tried prozac and zoloft in the past, with the same results). I suffer from depression and anxiety and was wondering if anyone out there knows and natural, herbal remedies or supplements that I can try to see if that will help and better, because I can't go on like this!

Since you have such a sensitivity to them, you really need to be asking your doctor about this, not anyone on yahoo.

Try cymbalta! It isn't processed through the same pathway as lexapro and may really help you.
I've heard St. John's wart helps, also you could try apple cider vinegar. I put two tbsp. in tea three times a day and it's supposed to be good for all sorts of things (one being depression). I'm so sorry you are having such a difficult time, depression is hard enough when you don't have reactions and allergies to meds. good luck!!

Try celexa! I was "allergic" to prozac, it made me feel like I was on morphine or some serious drug, even though it was a teeny dose. With Celexa I never felt any side effects on the drug at all.

Also, daily walks and extra curricular activities helps immensely! It is hard to make yourself go out there at first, but when you combine your physical efforts with your treatment, you start feeling better faster.

I remember seeing a book once called "Potatos Not Prozac". If I recall correctly it was about just what you're looking for, natural anti-depression remedies.
