...I'm sure I've butchered that quote pretty bad but it is totally true. Give it a break for now and see how you both feel later on. Sometimes it can be helpful to end it *before* things get ugly.

I wouldn't have worded it exactly the way Dave did but I have to say I agree. Even if that's not the reason he wants out, bottom line is he wants out. Some years ago there was a song, "Too Many Fish in the Sea". The background singers are singing the title of the song and the lead singer is saying, " I don't want nobody that don't want me, I don't need nobody that don't need me".

Let him go. He doesn't want you. You shouldn't want him. He doesn't need you and you sure as shooting don't need him. You were living and doing fine before you met him. Try later! What will be different later? You'll still be the same person that he tolerated and then threw away after a year. Forget him. You deserve better. Find someone worthy of you and whose attention spand is longer than a gnat's. Good luck!

Your question confuses me. You asked if you should stay with someone who said wants to break up and try later? If you mean if you should wait around for him until he is willing to try later, my advice would be NO. Give him the freedom he is seeking with best wishes. He probably thinks the grass is greener on the other side. Most times they come running back. In the mean time, do not stay home and wait for him to decide if he wants to come back, go out and make new friends. Best of luck to you!

Are you in denial?! He said he wants to break up. Why are you asking if you should stay with him. That is not one of your options.

Furthermore, do you know how to read between the lines? Do you know when someone is trying to let you down easy?

You don't stay with him. If you stay when he doesn't want to the only thing you will get is to have him hate you after a while. Go, live your life, have fun. If later he comes looking for you, and you still want him back, go slowly, don't give yourself away too easily, don't be too available. Men are very complicated in regards to feelings and relationship. They feel motivated towards what they can't have completely. It is weird, but it is like that.

You should move on further because when a person dedicate themselves to you then they should keep it. Not come into your life when the please to.
